Akiko: An intense desire to explore these parts of the world that few of us have the chance to visit.

Since 2017, the Akiko superyacht has been cruising the west coast of Australia, from the Coral Coast to Kimberley. First launched in 2007, she won five major accolades at the 2008 World Superyacht Awards.

 

In 2020-21, she ventured to Thailand and Malaysia then to the Indian Ocean in the Maldives.


Akiko? The owners wanted to find the baptismal name perfectly reflecting its country of origin, New Zealand. Äkikâ in Maori means away from home.

 

Akiko's real gift is the time spent away from the hustle and bustle of the world to enjoy a journey of discovery with friends and family.


The yacht is a legitimate moving art gallery, with collections from Melanesia, Australian Aboriginal artwork, and a general Pacific feel.


Her great width of 7.8m offers a vast unusual space for a 35m superyacht and great stability.

Akiko travels to incredible destinations, appealing to the more adventurous customers: after the Kimberley in Northwest Australia and Papua New Guinea, the Maldives, and Thailand in 2020.

 

Huge selection of water sports equipment to cater to the most active guests on board. An excellent boat for exploration, with opportunities to partner on ocean research and experience the trip of a lifetime, unique 'expeditions.

Exterior Comfort

- Main aft deck: al fresco dining for up to 10 guests (sofa + 5 chairs). 4 stools facing into the galley. The glass panel between inside and outside lowers down.
- Main dining area: seating for 8 around round table. Up to 10 with additional armrest chairs.
- Fly bridge: seating for up to 12-14 guests in a lounge setting. Suitable for canapés/sundown cocktails.
- Enclosed area for protection for weather. Additional sunbrella aft of the flybridge.
- Swimming platform: live bait tank and BBQ.

Interior Comfort

-5 cabins, 3 double and 2 twin
All cabins are ensuite and themed with beautiful authentic Aboriginal art.

Guests seating and living arrangement:
- Main dining area: seating for 8 around round table. Up to 10 with additional armrest chairs.

- Main salon: lounge area forward of dining area with large sofa and TV room/library.
- Sofa lounge looking forward. Access from bridge deck. Popup TV screen.


Galley:
It is an open galley situated upon entry to the main salon. A glass panel looking to the aft deck can lower for more of a bar feeling.
Galley leads to crew area.

Audio Visual Equipment and Deck Facilities:

- Chromecast, Crestron system and iTunes movie bank (with hard drive capacity for approximately 500 movies)

Communications:
4G fast internet.Wifi is included where geographically available (512/256 Kbps).
VSAT (unlimited but not maximum speed. Good for emails).
Satcom charges at $5 per minute.

1 x 7.5m Smuggler RIB Tender (2018) - up to 10 guests (local and international charters)

1 x 10m Naiad RIB (only subject to location & at additional charge. Cannot be towed.)

Watersports and watertoys

2x 3pers waverunners (1x waverunner in international destinations such as PNG, the Maldives)

2x 2pax rigid kayaks, 2x inflattable SUPs, many surfboards

Rendez-vous fishing / diving is possible through local operators.

Akiko has very extensive inventory of Watersports and fishing equipment, in Perth.
